This small standing stone marks a point along a path between the peaks of Y Gamriw to the north and Drum Ddu to the south. In modern times this isn't a practical route from or to anywhere, but when this marker was erected anyone travelling between the Elan Valley - which was flooded relatively recently - and the villages of the Wye and Ithon Valleys is likely to have used this direct, upland route.
