The 14th Century Church of the Holy Cross at Mwnt is partially sheltered from the elements by the 76 metre high Foel y Mwnt, on which there once stood a huge stone cross. This picturesque headland, now in the care of the National Trust, was the site of an unsuccessful attempt to invade Wales by the Flemings in 1155.
