Govilon, Gwent
From 1805 to 1809 Govilon Wharf was the end of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. Bailey's Tramroad linked Bailey's ironworks, at Nantyglo near Brynmawr, to the canal for onward transportation of railway track for the British and American markets. The warehouse at Govilon still stands, and is now used as an office by British Waterways who are responsible for the canal.
