From the northern end of Lake Vyrnwy, two stunning mountain roads cross the hills of Mynydd Carnedd Hywel to Bala. This is on the first, and shorter, of these routes where the boundary of the Snowdonia National Park is marked with a backdrop of Foel y Geifr [626m].
