Cemlyn Bay, Anglesey

Looking across Cemlyn Bay and lagoon. The lagoon is fed by a number of streams, and contains brackish water. Designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest in 1958, the National Trust manages the Cemlyn Estate. Cemlyn is famous for its birdlife. The lagoon has been managed as a wildfowl refuge for more than half a century, residents including three species of tern, Ringed Plover and Oystercatcher. Cemlyn Nature Resrve was set up in 1971 and is managed by the North Wales Wildlife Trust. Across the bay is the Magnox power station at Wylfa.
