Monmouth, Gwent
In the grounds of Monmouth Castle, very little of which remains, stand the barracks of The Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia), the senior Regiment of Britain's Reserve army. The role of this regiment when in the field is to maintain lines of communication are kept open by building capacity bridges and repairing roads and infrastructure.
